Shirley Hill was born on February 10, 1963, in Lumberton, North Carolina, and she passed away on July 3, 2024 in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

Shirley was the beloved daughter of the Late Willis E. Hill Senior and Helen Hill. She is preceded in death by her brothers Willie Ray Hill and Willis E Hill Junior; her sister Sarah Hill; and her oldest daughter Tataneisha J. Hill.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, two children; one daughter Nikita Crudup, and one son Dequan Cogdell Senior (Jessica). Shirley also had six adoring grandchildren, Zyreke, Amari, Jakari, Willis, Dequan Junior, and De'Niyah.

Shirley dedicated her life to education and worked for the Public Schools of Robeson County driving school buses for almost 30 years. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, singing, spending time with family, and listening to good music.

Shirley will forever be remembered for her infectious laughter, kind heart, and unwavering love for her family. She touched so many lives in her time here on earth and was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. She will be deeply missed by all who were lucky enough to know and love her.
