Shirley Ann HendersonMay 12, 1935 - April 23, 2014Shirley Ann Henderson, age 78, of Inkom, Idaho passed away due to an extended illness on April 23, 2014 at her home.Shirley was born on May 12, 1935 in Pocatello. Her parents were Irvin and Maxine Hartman. She joined two sisters, Imogene and Nadine.During her childhood she lived and attended school in Pocatello, Idaho. Her summers were spent with her grandparents on the rivers in the Macks Inn, Island Park area. At age 14 she moved to Downey to live with her mother and new stepfather, Lorin Criddle. She attended Downey High School. It was there that she met the man that would become her husband.Lynn and Shirley were married on July 7, 1953. They were blessed with three children, Greg, Sid and Sandy. While raising their family, they spent most summers camping and enjoying the outdoors in the Redfish, Stanley area.Shirley had many part time jobs over the years. She worked as a receptionist and bookkeeper until retirement. After retiring she and Lynn became snowbirds and spent the next ten winters in Big River, California. They traveled around a lot while there and made many lifelong friends. Due to Shirley's poor health, they quit traveling and chose to stay close to home in Inkom.Besides her love for her family, she loved her animals, especially her dogs. She always had one if not two.Shirley is survived by Lynn, her husband of 61 years; sons, Greg (Cheryl) and Sid (JoJan); and daughter, Sandy (Ed); as well as 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.The family wishes to thank Moneac Solomon and the entire Encompass Home Health and Hospice team for their compassionate care and friendship shown to Shirley during this time.As per her wishes she was cremated under the care and direction of Downard Funeral Home. A graveside service will be planned for a later date at the Downey Cemetery.
