Shirley Ann Lane (Read)We are deeply saddened by the loss of our mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Shirley passed away on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at Pioneer Village in Regina. Left to celebrate her life are her husband Leo; daughters Ginny (Jose) and Julie (Peter); grandchildren Bryan, Miguel, Ixchel, Nicte, Jayden, Bricen, and Ryse; brother Bob (Jean); sisters Roberta (Arnie), Gail (Don) and Joan (Eric). Shirley was predeceased by her parents Robert and Phyllis Read, and son Leo Lane Jr. Shirley was born on November 6, 1946 in Regina, SK. She grew up in Regina and moved to Halifax, Nova Scotia to marry Leo, who was in the Navy. After ten years, they moved back to Regina with three children. Shirley enjoyed renovating the four homes they shared over the years, as well as entertaining friends, and participating in church life at St. Mary's Church. Shirley developed early onset dementia and spent the last ten years of her life at Pioneer Village. We are thankful to the staff at Pioneer Village for caring for Shirley so many years. A huge heart and selfless soul has left us, but we are thankful for the time we had. You will forever be in our hearts, Mom. Family prayers will be held on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. at 3037 Retallack St., Regina, SK. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Mary's Anglican Church, Montague St. and 15th Ave., Regina, SK. Flowers most gratefully declined.
