Shirley A. Lewis, born October 21, 1931 in Johnson City, NY to Edward Travis and Charlotte Slocum Travis, went to join her beloved husband in heaven on September 18, 2015.
Shirley was a member of the Company "C" First Battalion Women's Army Corps. She moved to Salinas in 1957 and enjoyed a long and full life. Shirley retired from Wells Fargo Bank after 31 years of service. She was a member of the Elks, American Legion Post 31 Auxiliary, member and volunteer of Active Seniors, Inc., two local bunco groups and a social club called Ladies Drinking Society (LDS)
She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, Edward Lewis, two brothers, Donald Travis and William Travis, and two sisters, Dorothy Travis and Carolyn Travis. She is survived by her two children, Cheryl (Dwayne) Michael of Fresno and Bryan Lewis of Salinas. Six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren and her cat, Lucky.
Shirley enjoyed traveling, dancing, reading, gardening, cooking and entertaining. She will be missed tremendously by all of her family and friends.
