A proud graduate of the Burlington High School Class of 1951, Shirley carried the spirit of her hometown with her throughout her life. She often reminisced about her youthful days in Burlington, sharing stories that brought smiles and warmth to those who listened. Her education laid the foundation for a life of curiosity and engagement, as she always sought to learn and grow.
Shirley devoted much of her life to her family. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Rump, whose love and partnership were the cornerstones of her life. Together, Shirley and John raised four wonderful sons: Roger, Michael, Ray, and Thomas. They were her pride and joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them, nurturing their dreams and supporting their endeavors.
In addition to her sons, Shirley was blessed with nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in her heart.
