Shirley Ann TaylorZANESVILLE: Shirley Ann Taylor, 81 of Zanesville died at 1:00 AM Saturday, March 07, 2015 at her residence.She was born on February 18, 1934 in Zanesville, the daughter of Merle John and Mary Kathryn Bates Williams.Shirley was formally an organist at the First Baptist Church, and lover of nature. She loved living on the Licking River and at the age of 31 she went to the University of Akron and became a devoted teacher of middle school students, whom she loved and respected. Working as a teacher enabled her husband who was a Mechanical Engineer to graduate from the United Methodist Theological School in Ohio where he later was awarded a Doctorate. She is survived by her sisters, Marilyn Labaki and Linda Warne; a son, Martin E. Taylor; grandchildren, Abby Smith, Jody Taylor, Brandy Frahn, Jenny (Ware) Walker, and Zac Ware; eight great-grandchildren, and Gracie, her loyal furry companion. Shirley was preceded in death into the next life by her husband, Rev. Dr. Harvey E. Taylor; her parents, Merle J. and Mary K. Bates Williams; and a daughter, Sandra Carol Taylor Ware.
