Shirley Mae Chipman
SEDALIA — Shirley Mae Chipman, 71, of Sedalia, MO, passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at Bothwell Regional Health Center, Sedalia. She was born on July 28, 1945 in Crosstimbers, MO, the daughter of Virgil and Bonnie (Thomas) Mueller, who preceded her in death.
In October of 1962 in Harrisonville, MO, she was united in marriage to Gerald (Jerry) Ray Chipman, who preceded her in death in 2008.
Shirley Mae was the big sister of 3 brothers and 2 sisters. At an early age her family was extremely important to her, which carried on in her love of hosting family holidays at the home she shared with her husband and daughter. Her favorite holiday to host was Christmas.
She was an efficient professional with a great work ethic which aided her in her first job as a clerk for Woolworth's and in her last position as a Supervisor for Walter W. Ross and Co., for Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.
Crafts, sewing, drawing, art, cake decorating, reading and traveling where just some of the hobbies Shirley enjoyed.
Survivors include a daughter, Shelaine Hamby (David) of Sedalia; a grandson, David Aaron Hamby; two sisters, Muanita Mueller of Arizona and Geineen Wilding (Syd) of Idaho; three brothers, Victor Mueller of Richmond, MO, Andy Mueller (Linda) of Rayville, MO, and Mark Mueller (Denise) of Kansas City, MO.
A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia, with Rev. Tony Chapman officiating.
Burial of the ashes will be at Crown Hill Cemetery.
Urn bearer will be David Aaron Hamby.
