GRAHAM, Shirley (nee Price) Shirley died peacefully on January 9, 2017 at Saanich Peninsula Hospital. She was born on April 28, 1920 in Copper Cliff, Ontario. She was predeceased by her husband, Hartley, in 2004 and her granddaughter, Nicki in 1994. She is survived by her children, David (Ann), Mimi (Eric) and Louise; her grandchildren Jenny (Will), Mark (Shilpa), Geoff (Jenn) and Ali (Sam) and her great-grandchildren Martina, Thomas, Jasmine, Devon, Sid, Hartley, Kenzie and Evan. She married Hartley, a mining engineer, in 1943 and they moved to several communities in Quebec, B.C. and Ontario. She was always very involved in organizing activities and support wherever they lived. In 1981 Shirley was awarded The Sancta Barbara Medal by the Canadian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy in recognition of her years of volunteer work. When they retired to Salt Spring Island in 1982, she continued her beloved weaving, took up golf and remained active in church and volunteer work. They loved living on the Island and they were always a joy to watch - his eyes always lit up when she came into a room. Shirley is now happily with her soul mate. A Funeral Mass will be held for her at 1:00pm on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church at 10030 Third St., Sidney, B.C. A reception will follow.
