With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Sione Maka on September 17, 2023. Sione was born on January 1, 1950, in Nukualofa, Tongatapu, Tonga, to his loving parents Tevita and Salote.
In 1934, Sione found his soulmate, Henilieta, and together they embarked on a journey of love, loyalty, and devotion that lasted for nearly seven decades. They were blessed with four children, Sione (spouse Olivia), Fusi (spouse Lame), Pulotu (spouse Mele), and Meliame (spouse Soakai). Their love radiated through their wonderful family and enriched the lives of all who knew them.
Sione's dedication to his education led him to study at Tupou College high school, where he excelled in his academics, forming lifelong friendships along the way. He graduated in 1968, carrying with him the valuable lessons and memories that would shape his future endeavors.
Sione was a pillar of strength and a beacon of love within his community. His gentle spirit, kind heart, and unwavering faith inspired all who had the privilege of crossing paths with him. He had a profound impact on everyone's lives, spreading joy and wisdom wherever he went.
On September 17, 2023, Sione peacefully succumbed to natural causes, completing his earthly journey. Although our hearts ache at the loss of such an incredible individual, we find comfort in knowing that he has returned to his heavenly home, reunited with his loved ones who went before him.
Sione Maka will forever be remembered as a loving husband, devoted father, doting grandfather, and a compassionate friend. His legacy will continue to live on through the lives he touched, the memories he created, and the love he shared.
