Skyler Logan GilkersonChandlersville: Skyler Logan Gilkerson, 16 years old, of Chandlersville, passed away on Saturday, August 5, 2017. He was born on May 19, 2001; he is the son of Rodney and Sherry (Taylor) Gilkerson.Skyler was about to start his junior year at Philo High School where he played on the Philo Baseball Team, Philo Swim Team and the Philo Cross Country Team. He was active in the 4-H and he loved the outdoors and horse-riding and he was an avid animal lover. Baseball was his life and he loved fitness. He was active in cross-fit training and enjoyed competing in the Spartan Races. He attended the Tree of Life Church in Zanesville and he attended SHIFT at the Cornerstone Barracks. Skyler was a bright and loving kid who worked hard at everything that he did, he had a smile that everyone loved and he genuinely loved helping people. He loved making others laugh and playing practical jokes.Skyler's legacy lives thru his family and friends and can be remained on his YouTube channel (
youtube.com/channel/UCjkuX6jv4CZfifMbJVZWLkA)In addition to his parents Rodney and Sherry Gilkerson, he is survived by his two older siblings, his brother and his girlfriend Brandon Gilkerson (Leslie Mata) of Las Vegas, NV and his sister and her boyfriend Paige Gilkerson (Zeke Scott) of Chandlersville; his maternal grandparents Dwight Taylor of Chandlersville and Rose Mary and Jim Wilson of Lore City; his maternal great-grandfather Joe (Kay) Long of Chandlersville; his paternal grandparents Roger Gilkerson of Columbus and Velma and Stu Stewart of Columbus. He also leaves behind to cherish his memory, his girlfriend Abbie Hayes and his two best friends forever, A.J. Little and Matthew King.Skyler is preceded in death by his maternal great-grandparents Ruth Long and Logan and Eunice Taylor.Friends and family are welcome to attend calling hours for Skyler on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at the Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. Funeral Services will be held at 2 pm Wednesday, August 9, 2017 with Pastor Tom Hayes and Pastor Jamie Harrop officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Chandlersville Cemetery. Following the services the Gilkerson family invites everyone to Bergin Park to play ball and share memories of Skyler.
