Socorro Luna, 86, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at 6:52 AM. Socorro's sister, Evangelina Martin Del Campo, joined her in eternal peace on the same day at approximately 8 AM. Socorro was born on May 13, 1931 in Madera, Chihuahua, Mexico. She proudly became a United States citizen on September 30, 1993. Socorro was a loving mother with a deep sense of family principles. She is survived by her children, Dora Nazariega, Roberto Alonso Luna (Melanie), Sylvia Vega (Ricardo), Maria Del Refugio Westphal (Lawrence), Jaime Luna, and Daniel Luna (Tresha); sisters, Josefina Gonzalez, Maria Montes, and Rafaela Martinez. She has nine grandchildren Tanya Nazariega, Nicole Nazariega, Suzanne Nazariega, Victoria Anne Keyes, Stephanie Allison Keyes, Elizabeth Danielle Keyes, Heather Stonecipher, Ricardo Vega Jr., Vanessa Ileana Vega, David Luna, and Carlos Luna. She has seven great grandchildren and multiple nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her brothers Gabino Duarte, Carlos Duarte; sisters, Margarita Varela; and her grandchild, James Stonecipher. We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to all her doctors, medical team, and caregivers for dedicated service and loving support. We would also like to thank our sister, Sylvia and her husband Ricardo Vega, for their loving support and tireless efforts in caring for our mother. Visitation will be Sunday, September 10, 2017 from 5:00 to 9:00pm with vigil at 6:00pm at Martin Funeral Home Central. Funeral Mass will be Monday, September 11, 2017 at 12:45pm at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
