Sonya Hopper, born on May 5, 1936 in Humboldt, Tennessee, passed away on May 4, 2024. She was the beloved daughter of the late John and Mary Jones. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first second son Charles (chucky), and her baby daughter Wilma.

She leaves behind her daughter Sonya, son George, god daughter Fannie, Vanitta, Tiffany, Jessica, SirAireel, Melissa, Brandon, Christanna, and Nashunda, lots of great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and cousins.

She will be missed by all. Sonya was always full of life, and everyone’s favorite person to have around. She was beloved by all knew her. Sonya was the epitome of a strong independent, and fierce woman. Fighting from an early age after several health issues in the past. Sonya continued that fighting spirit up until her final day on earth.

Sonya was involved in various children lives as a professional caregiver throughout her 86 years, including bartending in her younger days. She absolutely loved to travel, dance, sing and worshiping Jehovah. She was a member of The Kingdom Hall in Humbolt. Sonya will continue to live on in the memories and hearts of all who knew her.
