Sophie Ellis, beloved resident of Selma, Alabama, passed away on December 25, 2025, at the age of 74. She was born on September 16, 1951, and brought joy and laughter to all who knew her.

Sophie was a devoted wife to her husband, Lue L Ellis, whom she married in 1988. Together, they raised four wonderful children: Linda, David (married to Mary), Lue Jr (married to Renay), and Jackie (married to William). Sophie was also a proud grandmother to nine grandchildren.

Known for her quick wit and infectious smile, Sophie was the life of the party at any gathering. Her love for music, dancing, and good food brought her immense happiness throughout her life.

Despite facing health challenges, Sophie always remained upbeat and grateful for the blessings in her life. Her positive spirit touched all who crossed her path, and she will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the American Heart Association in Sophie's memory. May she rest in peace, forever dancing in the hearts of those who loved her.
