Sophie M. Williams1929 - 2014Sophie M. Williams, 85, of Kenosha passed away on Friday, Aug. 29, 2014, at Hospice House with her family by her side. Sophie was born on April 6, 1929, in Chicago to Joseph and Josephine (Rog) Cich. She married Carroll Lee Williams on May 5, 1951, in Chicago and he preceded her in death in 1973. Sophie was a secretary for many years for the American Can Company and Toko America. She was a former member of St. Catherines Catholic Church in Dundee, Ill., and a current member of St. Annes in Pleasant Prairie and she was very active in both choirs for many years. Sophie enjoyed gardening, needlework, traveling and especially loved her time with her family.She was also preceded in death by her parents; her son, Andrew Williams; and five brothers, Aloysius, Michael, John, Frank and Joseph Cich.Sophie is survived by five children, Joseph (Linda) Williams of Springville, Ala., Paul (Linda) Williams of Rochester, NY, Daniel (Julie) Williams of Portland, Ore., Carroll (Carol Lynn) Williams and Louisa (Jeff) Gacek, both of Kenosha; four grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; her sister-in-law, June Luster of La Jara, Colo., as well as nieces, nephews and friends.A Mass of Christian Burial for Sophie will be held at 12 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2014, at St. Annes Catholic Church (9091 Prairie Ridge Blvd). A visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the time of Mass.
