Bancroft Jr., Spencer W. "Bill"Spencer W. "Bill" Bancroft Jr., 88, Green Bay, died Friday, August 4, 2017. He was born on March 31, 1929, in Menominee, MI to Alice (Verheyen) and Spencer W. Bancroft Sr.Bill married Phyllis Geber on October 23, 1954 in Wadena, MN. After moving to Green Bay, he began working at Fort Howard Paper Company, where he was employed for over 30 years. Bill enjoyed the outdoors and fly fishing. He organized the Annual Cousin Picnic and was known to take the scenic route, often taking a different way on the return trip.Bill is survived by his wife, Phyllis; children, Jean (Doug) McLaughlin, Ann Steffens (special friend, Jim Olmsted); grandchildren, Nicholas (Kelsey) McLaughlin, Lauren McLaughlin (special friend, Patrick Carey), Sarah (Jonah) Heemstra, Nathan Steffens, Angela Steffens; great-grandchildren, Laine, Calvin, Paige; siblings, Nancy Wituschek, Sharon (Dave) Walker, Pat (Hank) Denowski; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.He was preceded in death by a son, Mike Bancroft; his parents; a sister, Hazel (Eric) Sunstrom; and brother-in-law, Ray Wituschek.Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, followed by the Memorial Service at 7 p.m. with Deacon Mike Mervilde officiating.
