Stanley "Stan" J. RhodesNewbury Park, CA Stanley "Stan" Rhodes, a 54 year resident of Newbury Park, passed away peacefully in his home on January 1, 2017. Stan was born on March 28, 1923 in England. He was preceded in death by his parents, Al and Florence Rhodes; his sister, Ann Anderson; and infant daughter, Betty Ann Rhodes. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary Rhodes; his daughter, Carol McDonald and her husband, Rick McDonald of Oceanside; sister, Betty Logan of England; grandson, Collin Lyndon of Carlsbad; granddaughter, Jennifer Tritt and her husband, Jake; and twin great-granddaughters, Zoey and Michelle of Oceanside. Extended family by marriage includes grandchildren, Nicole McDonald, Alexandria and Matthew McDonald of Vista, and their children. Stan was an avid golfer. He played in tournaments with Hughes Research Labs Golf Club. He worked for Hughes Research Labs in Malibu for 20 years before he retired. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Stan was a friend to all who knew him. Memorial service for Stan will be held at the Rhodes residence, 3361 William Drive, Newbury Park on Saturday, February 4 at 2:00 P.M.
