Stanley Gerald "Jerry" Wardrip, 75, of Wilmington, NC died Thursday, November 5, 2015 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.He was born on December 7, 1939 in Brandenburg, KY, the son of the late Hayward and Willa Bea Givens Wardrip.Jerry retired from the U.S. Marine Corps as a Master Sergeant. He was veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of DAV and was active at Wrightsboro United Methodist Church. Jerry was a member of Quails Unlimited, Coastal Plain Chapter, a volunteer with Canines for Services. He was very proud to be an Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonial recipient.Surviving is his wife, Joyce Burks Wardrip; daughter, Sandra Camp and husband Michael of Roanoke Rapids, NC; son, Stanley G. Wardrip Jr. and wife Marla of Wilmington; brother, George Wardrip of Battletown, KY; a sister, Joan Scaggs of Wilmington; two grandchildren, Ashley Camp of Roanoke Rapids, NC and Andrew Wardrip of Wilmington; and one great-grandchild, Seth Camp.The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, November 6, 2015 at Andrews Mortuary Market Street Chapel.A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday at Wrightsboro United Methodist Church.
