Stella J. WheelerClinton, TNStella J. Wheeler, 89, passed away peacefully with family on Feb. 23, 2017, at Methodist Medical Center. She was born on Aug. 27, 1927, in Gainesboro, Tenn., to Ida Spurlock and Clay Jones, who preceded her in death. Her beloved husband, Marion Wheeler, also preceded her in death. She was a Clinton, Tenn. resident, and a member of the Memorial United Methodist Church. She worked for many years at the Agricultural Extension Office in the Anderson County Courthouse. She was active in several organizations including serving on many boards for the Anderson County Fair, and vice-president of Clinton Homettes Home Demonstration Club. She loved gardening, was an accomplished seamstress, and cook. She cherished her time spent with grandchildren, family and friends, and especially time with her two great-grandchildren. She is survived by daughter, Jane Kinser and husband Hugh, of Oak Ridge; son, Tom Wheeler and wife, Ann, of Clinton; grandchildren, Kathleen and husband Joe Atkins, Ann Marie and husband Matt Rowley, Katherine and Carolyn Wheeler; two great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and extended family.The family will receive friends on Sunday, Feb. 26, at 5:00 PM, with funeral service at 7:00 PM, in the chapel of Holly Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton, Tenn., with Rev. Mahan Archer and Rev. Donna Hester officiating. Burial will be on Monday, Feb. 27, at 11:00 AM at Grandview Memorial Cemetery in Clinton.
