Saunders, Stephen A.Stephen A. Saunders, age 75, a resident of St. Nazianz, died Monday, April 24, 2017 at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc.He was born on October 22, 1941 in Appleton, son of the late Henry & Eunice (Bauriain) Saunders. Stephen was a Vietnam War Veteran serving in the United States Army from March 14, 1966 until March 13, 1968. On September 27, 1991 he married Amy Ross at Pine Crest Historical Society, Manitowoc. Stephen was employed with the Vollrath Company of Sheboygan for 40 years, retiring in 2011. During his employment, he was a member of the UAW Local 1472, serving as chief steward and workman's comp representative. After his retirement, he worked at Rob's Family Market, Manitowoc, delivering groceries to those in need. Stephen was a member of the American Legion Post #477. He enjoyed the outdoors, camping and fishing. Stephen was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Community.Survivors include his loving wife of 25 years: Amy Saunders, St. Nazianz; two sons and one daughter-in-law: David (Darcey) Saunders, Sheboygan Falls, Joseph Saunders & his fiancé Julie Kepple, West Bend; six grandchildren: David Bergemann, Elizabeth Saunders, Christopher Saunders, Joshua Saunders, Magen Saunders, Helena Saunders; one great grandchild: Loren Bergemann; one brother: Richard Saunders, Menasha; his mother-in-law and father-in-law: Mary & Rich Ross, Brillion; a sister-in-law: Becky Morrin and her sons: Marshall & Jackson, Ripon; and a brother-in-law: Cory Ross, Green Bay. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was also preceded in death by two sisters: Donna Oskey and Sandy Barth and a brother: Robert Saunders.Cremation has occurred at All-Care Cremation Center, Manitowoc. Funeral Services will be held at 6:00 p.m. Monday, May 1, 2017 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Community, Newton. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. David Beaudry. Military rites will be accorded by St. Nazianz American Legion Post #477 Wagner Eberle Sukowaty immediately following the Mass. Stephen will be laid to rest at a later time. The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Community, Newton, from 4:00 p.m. Monday, May 1, 2017 until 5:45 p.m.Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family by visiting
