Stephen "Steve" E. Eriksen passed away on Friday, July 24 at 11:30 am. He lived with lung cancer for 4 years before his passing at the Spencer Hospital in Spencer Iowa. Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Agdrup and Frances Eriksen of Peterson, IA. His younger sister Lori Eriksen of Peterson and his older sister Carol Saltz of Des Moines, IA. His grandparents Sam and Anna Eriksen of Spencer and William and Margaret Steiner of Spencer, Iowa. His Son-in-law Brian Heisler of Emmetsburg, Iowa and his Daughter-in-law Sharon Eriksen of Little Rock, Arkansas. 

Steve was born in Webb, Iowa on February 12, 1942. He attended school in Gillette Grove, Iowa and then in Spencer, Iowa.  Steve met his wife Shirley in 1963 and married in 1964. Steve and Shirley moved to Peterson, Iowa in 1964 where they later raised five kids together. Steve spent much of his time on the farm doing what he loved. Taking care of livestock and raising crops to feed his family. Steve was an avid outdoorsman. Never wanting to be inside for even a moment, he enjoyed fishing, camping, and simply sitting outside enjoying nature. He enjoyed collecting different unique rocks and fossils he found over the years. In 2016 Steve was diagnosed with Stage 3 Lung Cancer where despite treatment and therapy, he succumbed to his illness in July 2020. He spent his final days at the Spencer Hospital in the company of so many warm and giving caretakers that we will be forever grateful for. All family and friends are invited for an informal, supportive gathering to share pictures and memories of Steve. Left to cherish his memory are his children Todd(Margie) Eriksen off Webb City, Missouri. Tammy(David) Eriksen of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Trent Eriksen of Little Rock, Arkansas. Toni Heisler of Emmetsburg, Iowa. Terry Eriksen of Escondido, California. His grandchildren Ashley(Jesse) Weddle, Samantha(Chad) Williams, Rachel Eriksen, Anna Marie Eriksen, Megan Heisler, Madison Heisler, Elyse Eriksen as well as many friends and extended family

Memorial Services will be 1:30 P.M., Monday, July 27, at the Grace United Methodist Church
