Stephen (Steve) LaCazeStephen (Steve) Pershing LaCaze, age 70, of Mountain Pine, Arkansas died Friday, May 19, 2017 of complications from an extended illness due to lymphoma. Steve was born on August 23, 1946 in Alexandria, Louisiana; the son of Pershing and Clarine Rhodes LaCaze. Steve grew up in the Monet Ferry, Louisiana area and attended high school in Cloutierville, Louisiana. He attended college at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches and lived in the area before moving to Hot Springs, Arkansas with his wife Mary in 1978. Steve traveled on weekends with Mary for many years, doing basket weaving for craft shows. He also loved hanging out with friends at auctions and loved going places. Steve loved people dearly.Steve was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers; Sherman, Joey, and Bruce LaCaze. Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Mary LaCaze; son, Stephen P. LaCaze II and his wife, Celeste; daughter, Karen Ledet and her husband, Lukey; four grandchildren, Stephen C. and Emily LaCaze, Kyler and Kelsy Ardoin; one great-grandchild, Chase Ardoin; one brother, Stanley LaCaze; and Steve's former wife, and the mother of his children, Gale Russell. A private celebration of life with family and friends will be held at a later date.
