Steve Hewitt was born on October 15, 1954 in New Albany,IN. His parents are Hurbert Lee and Joyce Scherer, having 2 siblings Glenna VanIandingham and Jeffrey Thomas. He passed away on November 24,2024. He was a beloved husband to Robin Hewitt, whom was the love of his life & married to for 41 years. Together, they had 4 children: Cassie (Jacob) Berry, Sara Hewitt, Stevie Hewitt & Sandra (Dyllon) Kissell.

Steve was a proud grandfather to 10 grandchildren, whom he loved dearly: Aubrey, Dylan, Crow, Kayleigh, Maddy, Steven, Lucy, Coltan, Hunter & Scarlett. He studied at Franklin Central High School and went on to join the United States Navy. He retired as an Auto Mechanic after many years of dedicated service. During retirement he became an active member of A.B.A.T.E. Of Indiana. He was passionate in participating in many motorcycle fundraiser rides, dedicated to helping not only his community, but the children in need. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR and all his favorite sports teams such as Indianapolis Colts and Indiana Pacers. He was also a fantastic poker player amongst his friends and family. He was a very loyal friend. His best friends being Stubbs, Rodney, Jeff, Randy, Bobby& Fred.

Steve will be remembered for his kind heart, sense of humor, and unwavering love for his wife & family. He touched the lives of all who knew him and will be greatly missed. This is not a goodbye, but a see ya later alligator.
