It is with great sadness that the family of Steve Cummings announce his passing. Charles Steve Cummings, 65, passed away January 14th, 2022 due to cancer. He was a beloved father and grandfather, a respected businessman, and a Christian. Just like he dealt with all experiences in life, Steve faced his illness with strength and grace, and wanted to spend as much time with his loved ones as possible. On his final day, he was surrounded by his wife and all seven of his children, who he adored more than anything else in the world.

Steve and his sister Sharon were raised in Alabama by Charles & Doris Cummings. During his teenage years Steve enjoyed playing football and teaching himself how to play the guitar. This transformed into a lifelong musical passion. Steve successfully owned and operated his family’s glass & ornamental iron companies for over 25 years in Columbus, MS.

Steve is survived by his wife [Patricia]; his children [Karac, Leah, Justin, Rachel, Ben, Stephen, Sarah]; and sister [Sharon]. He was preceded in death by his parents [Charles & Doris Cummings].

A memorial service for Steve is scheduled for Saturday, May 14th, 2022 2:00 PM at Spring Hill Baptist Church, Fayette AL, immediately followed by a graveside burial at the church cemetery.. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent in Steve’s name to the American Cancer Society.
