It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved, Steven Charles Thompson, who left us far too soon at the age of 48. Steven was the beloved son of Robert John Thompson II and Darlene Witzke Thompson, and loving husband of Jennifer Barnett Thompson. He sadly passed away on September 25, 2024 in Atlanta, Georgia, United States. He was born on March 8, 1976. Steven had a presence that radiated warmth and comfort. He had an unwavering loyalty that was evident in the way that he stood by friends and family, always ready to lend an ear or a helping hand.
He was a selfless person who acted with kindness and generosity in his daily life. He touched so many lives with his compassion, humor and unwavering loyalty. And Steven had an intelligence and passion for learning that was truly incredible to all who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, love and cherished memories.
A proud graduate of Georgia Tech University, Bachelor of Science, Mechanical Engineering with top honors; University of Chicago MBA Program with top honors.
Steven built a remarkable career as a Mechanical Engineer and Consultant for many years for Atlanta's most prominent companies including Home Depot Corporate, Boston Consulting Group, Deloitte and Floor and Decor. He also flourished as Vice President of FireDragon Retail Consulting, a beloved venture he created with a dear group of colleagues. He was known for his brilliance as a mathematician to all who knew him. Steven had a passion for learning and always challenged himself every day. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Steven was an avid Georgia Tech Football and Basketball fan and enjoyed celebrating fun fall days with his Sigma Chi Fraternity Brothers. He loved to play tennis and was very involved in many winning ALTA teams. He loved to travel all over the world and celebrated many beautiful life celebrations with his wife Jenny. He always had a penchant for learning and continued to challenge himself every day.
He was a beloved Husband to Jenny, sharing 19 beautiful years of marriage. A devoted son to Darlene, cherished brother to Robert and Maria, and an adoring Uncle to Bobby, Antonia and a proud Godfather to Isabella.
While we mourn his passing, we will forever celebrate the life he lived and the countless lives he touched. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
