Steven Allen Masterson, 25Steven Allen Masterson, 25, of Brookston, passed away on Thursday, September 4, 2014 due to injuries he sustained in a single vehicle accident while on his way to work.He was born on August 24, 1989 in Lafayette to Randy A. Masterson and Carol A. Masterson (Gosney). He attended Frontier Junior High and High School , where he played soccer and football, and also attended Harrison High School for a short period. Steven graduated from Lincoln Tech with a degree in High Performance Automotive. He was a Brookston resident most of his life, but had lived in Flora and Indianapolis for a short time. Steven had worked for Vanguard National Trailer in Monon, Subway in Brookston, and most recently was employed at Pizza Hut in Delphi. Steven enjoyed off-roading, shooting his guns, playing video games, camping, and swimming. He was the life of the party and loved spending time with his family and friends. He had a very big heart and was kind to everyone he knew. Surviving with his parents, Carol Masterson of Brookston and Randy Masterson of Flora, are his sister, Selena Masterson-Wagoner of Lafayette; nephew, Leland Wagoner; niece, Laylah Ermel; stepnephew, Sean Wagoner; stepniece, Lauren Ermel; maternal grandmother, Marge Gosney of Brookston; and paternal grandfather, Don Masterson of Lafayette. He is also survived by 5 uncles, 7 aunts, many cousins, and numerous friends who considered Steven to be a brother to them. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Margaret Masterson, maternal grandfather, Charles Gosney, paternal stepgrandmother, Martha Masterson, 1 aunt, and 1 uncle. Friends may call 3-8pm, Monday, September 8, 2014 at Hartzler-Clapper Funeral Home of Brookston, and from 10 am until the time of Funeral Service at 11 am, Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at Crossroads Christian Church of West Lafayette (6435 State Road 43 North, West Lafayette, IN 47906), with Pastor Mike Duff officiating. Interment to follow in Brookston Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Steven A. Masterson Memorial Fund. Donations may be made during the visitation and funeral or at the Farmers State Bank in Brookston and Battle Ground.
