Hartung, StevenSteven F. Hartung, 47, of Arlington, Texas passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 20, 2017 from a Grade IV Glioblastoma - gliomatosis cerebri. Steve was born on September 30, 1969 in Milwaukee, son of Cecil and Delores Hartung. He was a graduate of Oak Creek High School's Class of 88. He attended UWGB for a year and then completed his undergraduate studies at Texas Christian University in 1999 with a Bachelors of Chemistry. He went on to complete his Executive MBA from Southern Methodist University in 2003. During this time Steve was employed at Johnson & Johnson, married his wife Maria Romano, and started his family. Post-MBA he pursued a career at Airbus and was promoted to Senior Program Manager of government contracts. He loved his job. In the last 2 years he was instrumental in writing a successful contract to continue the support of the Lakota Helicopter program for the U.S. Army. His sons, Gabriel and Kevin, were the loves of his life. Steve would have done anything to help and support them on their journey through life; he believed in experiential learning and loved exposing them to new opportunities.Steve was active in the Knights of Columbus and the Men's Club at St. Vincent DePaul Church in Arlington, Texas. He always had a willing ear to listen or hand to help anyone in need; he valued forming relationships with people and was a true steward of God's gifts. Steve loved listening to music, baking desserts for church, traveling and spending time with friends and family. Mueller's Cottages on Clarks Lake in Door County was his favorite place; he enjoyed many summers here with his immediate and extended family playing board and card games, walking to Lake Michigan, bike riding, and participating in watersports. His memory will live on with his sons Gabriel Hartung and Kevin Hartung, his wife Maria, and his mom Delores Hartung, along with sisters: Ramona (Chris) Speier, Juanita (Ed) Barr, and Becky (Nelson) Hartung-Chiu, Carolyn (Jordan) Keister, Lisa Brannan, nieces and nephews: Jennifer, Andrew and Sara Speier, Nora Barr, Lucas Chiu, Aidan and Jessica Keister, Dominic and Antonio Brannan, aunts, uncles, and cousins.He was preceded in death by his dad, Cecil Hartung, grandparents Frank and Martha Hartung, and Eleanor and Emmanuel Mueller. Family and friends may visit at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N. Webster Ave., De Pere, on Saturday, May 27, 2017 from 4:00pm to 5:30pm. Friends are then asked to meet at Resurrection Catholic Church, 333 Hilltop Dr., Allouez for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 6:00pm with Bishop Robert Morneau officiating.
