Stokley Ward Richey, 82, a resident of Los Alamos, died peacefully at his home on June 1. He was born on October 18, 1931 in Hico, TX to the late Cicero Bascum and Clarice Irene Richey. Ward was married to his dear wife Winnie for over 56 years. Ward and Winnie moved from Houston to Los Alamos in 1986. Ward enjoyed his family more than anything who included his children, Gayla Romero and husband, David; Vickie Higdon and husband Rusty; Randy Richey and wife Julie; and Dale Richey. His grandchildren are Justin Richey and wife Leah; Jeremy Smith and wife Vanessa; Taylor Gonzales and husband Robert; Eric Smith and wife Gabrielle; Robby Richey, Chelsea Lucas and husband Stephen; Patricia Espino and husband Manuel; James Woods; and Jesse Richey. Ward had 12 great grandchildren: Sofia, Sullivan, Tina, Breeanna, J.J., Breygen, Tyler, Addison, Ethan, Kaylee, Peyton, and Rylee. A memorial service to commemorate Ward's life will be on Saturday, June 7 at 2:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 4542 Yucca in Los Alamos. Ward's family looks forward to seeing him again in the promised resurrection.
