DELTA Stone Dyllan Hill, 17, died on Tuesday, June 16, 2015, as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident on Slab Road, Delta. Stone was born on April 29, 1998, in York, the son of R. Glenn and Tina Marie (Lloyd) Hill of Delta. In the fall, he would have entered his senior year at Red Lion Area High School, where he was gifted in both academics and athletics. An honor roll student, Stone also lettered in wrestling, baseball and football and was exploring his athletic options as a college student. Stone began playing baseball at age 7 and later played for both the Delta Rec League and Fawn Grove travel teams. In 2014, Stone was chosen to participate in a program for young adults through York Revolution Baseball, playing baseball with the York Young Revs. Stone began football at the age of 10 and played for the Little Lions and later North Harford Rec Football in Pylesville, Md. Earlier this spring, Stone finished 2nd in a power lifting competition at Kennard-Dale High School in Fawn Grove with his lift of over 300 pounds. Stone was a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity and was well known and loved for his mentoring of younger athletes in all sports. Stone will be remembered for his upbeat personality, his compassion for others, and giving 100% in whatever he did. A spiritual young man, his favorite Bible verse was Philippians 4:13. In addition to his parents, Stone is survived by stepbrother, Trevor Michael Hill; paternal grandparents, Robert and Dollie Hill of Stewartstown; maternal grandparents, Robert and Ann Lloyd of Delta. A visitation will be held on Monday, June 22 from 2 to 6 p.m. at the New Covenant Community Church, 284 Slab Road, Delta, PA. Funeral services will be held at the church on Tuesday, June 23 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Lanny D. Kilgore officiating. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Airville, Pa. with committal services by the Rev. James B. Shuler.
