Susan Dee CarpenterThousand OaksOur beautiful wife, mother, sister and grandmother passed away on July 2, 2017. She was born on January 6, 1944 in Detroit Michigan to Herbert Kirby and Marie Ann Shrout. She was a 39 year resident of Thousand Oaks. After raising her children into grade school, Sue went back to school and graduated from California State University at Northridge with a Bachelor of Arts in Molecular Biology with a minor in Chemistry in 1981. She discovered that Nursing was her calling and graduated from Moorpark College with and Associate Degree in Nursing in 1984. Sue was a registered Nurse at Children's Hospital at Los Angeles from 1984 to2008. She was in the infant special care unit and later as a Certified Diabetic Educator, she was a clinical manager in the Endocrinology and Metabolism at CHLA.After retiring in 2008, sue pursued her love of travel and developed her skills in oil painting of cats and animals. She was active in local painting group in Thousand Oaks. She traveled to New Orleans, Yellowstone Park, Hood River Oregon, Spain, Italy and a cruise in the Baltic. Loved and dearly missed by her husband Art, daughter Chris her husband Ed and grandson Spencer, daughter Courtney her husband Craig and grandson Jack and Granddaughter Lindsey, daughter Cherie, sisters Stacy Schumacher and Sally Shrout, brothers Mike Shorut, Doug Shrout and Pat Shrout. Beloved cousins, nieces and nephews, and many, many more. In lieu of flowers, Sue wanted donations to
