Susan K. Van Skyock, 70Yorktown - Susan K. Van Skyock, 70, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. She was born on June 18, 1947 in Muncie, the daughter of Harry Edward and Marybelle (Bennett) Friddle and graduated from Cowan High School. Susan received her Bachelor's Degree from Purdue University and her Master's Degree from Ball State University. She was married to Richard K. Van Skyock on March 9, 1968. Susan taught in the Muncie Community School System for many years until her retirement. She was a Member of the Order of the Eastern Star #104 where she was a current officer and Past Worthy Matron, a member of Job's Daughters where she was Past Bethel Guardian and Member of Honor of Bethel #115 Daleville, Past Honored Queen, Majority Member and Member of Honor of Bethel #122 New Burlington, a member of the Red Hats of Anderson, a member of the Madison County Shrine Ladies Club where she was a Past President, a member of the Muncie Retired Teachers Association, a member of White Shrine of Jerusalem, a member of Sigma Delta Pi Chi Chapter, a member of the Delaware County Extension Homemakers Club, and the President of the Domestic Engineers Homemakers Extension Club.Susan enjoyed traveling, reading and volunteering at Emens Auditorium at Ball State, the Muncie Civic Theater and the many other organizations she belonged to.She is survived by a daughter, Suzanne Conway (husband, Tim) of Frederick, Colorado; a son, R. Scott Van Skyock (wife, Elizabeth) of Muncie; and four grandchildren, Katherine, Jason, Crystal Conway and Zachary Van Skyock.She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of almost 27 years, Richard K. Van Skyock.Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 27, 2017 at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel with Pastor Wade Allen officiating. Burial will follow in Elm Ridge Cemetery.Family and friends may call at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 26, 2017 or one hour prior to services on Friday. The Order of the Eastern Star memorial service will be performed at 6:30 p.m. and Job's Daughter will perform the Living Cross at 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary.Memorial contributions may be made to the Muncie Masonic Association, P.O.
