Susan Yvonne Maxfield, our sweet mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend passed away on March 20, 2020, at the age of 72. She was surrounded by her loving children at her home in Springville, Ut when she left this mortal life to be embraced by her Father in Heaven. She was born April 13, 1947 to George and Dorothy Gibson in Van Nuys, California.

Susan attended high school for a couple of years in Altamont and later moved to Orem where she graduated from Orem high school.There she met Kerry Maxfield whom she married on March 19, 1966. Their marriage was solemnized in the Provo temple in 1973.

She was honored to be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where she served in various callings. Susan's greatest pleasures in life were the Lord and her children as she referred to them as "her babies." Susan exemplified love and compassion. She was a very warm, patient, generous, hardworking and humble woman. 

She loved shopping from home on QVC, which included her jewelry, perfume and clothing.

Our mom enjoyed the fresh air, flowers, sunshine, the sound of birds chirping, wind chimes, reading books and the distant sound of train horns. We will miss our warm-hearted, selfless mother dearly. Due to our knowledge of the Gospel, we believe that mom is perfect, whole and complete in all her glory with her parents and baby sister. We know we will be with our beautiful mom again someday.

Susan is survived by her husband Kerry, along with her 5 children: Tonya of Provo, Ut, Nikki (Mark) of Spring Lake, Ut, Shane of Craig, Co, Jeremy of Provo, Ut and Kristy of Spanish Fork, Ut, six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren (with one on the way), her brother Terry (Pam) Gibson, her brother Dennis (Linda) Gibson, her brother Tim (Priscilla) Gibson, her sister Jill (Rick) Lichtie, her sister Jody (Phil) Young and numerous nieces and nephews.Susan was preceded in death by her baby sister Janice Gibson, her mother Dorothy Gibson, and father George T. Gibson.

Services will be held at Berg Mortuary in Provo, Utah on Friday, March 27th. A viewing will be at 1:00 PM with the funeral following at 2:00 PM. Interment: East Lawn Memorial Hills 4800 North 650 East Provo, Utah.
