Susan Zarbock Gilliam RACINE –Susan Zarbock Gilliam, 65, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare-All Saints. She was a lifelong resident of Racine, born on July 23, 1949, the daughter of the late Earl and Jean (nee: Overson) Zarbock. Susan was a graduate of Wm. Horlick High School “Class of 1967.” She received her associate Degree in Sociology and was a licensed Cosmetologist. Susan was a long time member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. She loved thrift store shopping and had no greater joy than when she found really great bargains. Most of all she enjoyed being a mom and was affectionately known as “Grandma Chocolate.” Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-law, Michael (Nicole) Gilliam, David (Heather) Gilliam and Daniel (Christina) Gilliam all of Racine; nine grandchildren, Christian, Alexander, Meghan-Nicole, Hunter, Cierra, Caleb, MacKenzie, Skylar and Alyssa; two brothers, Michael Zarbock of Phoenix, AZ and Jeff (Cindi) Zarbock of Racine, beloved Aunt Betty and family friend, Adam Lindholm. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends and her special puppies, Sadi, Bentley and Jazmine. Susan was preceded in death by a grandson, Jordan and granddaughter, Melissa. In keeping with Susan’s wishes, private services will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 1501 Erie Street. She will be laid to rest at Mound Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to remember Susan in a special way may direct memorials to the , 234 W. Florida St., Milwaukee, WI 53204.
