Bowlby, Suzanna M. Shimer 85, of Paradise Valley, passed away on October 14, 2017. Suzanna was born on June 16, 1932, in Easton, Pennsylvania. She was the only child of Erwin Shimer and Marie Catherine Schildknecht. Suzanna grew up in Washington, NJ and graduated from Washington High School in 1951. Suzanna married her high school sweetheart Donald S Bowlby on February 4, 1951, and so began their amazing life of togetherness. Due to Suzanna's health issues this journey led them to Scottsdale, AZ in 1958. Suzanna was a homemaker and a professional yodeler. At the age of 17 she performed on the Ted Mack's Original Amateur Hour and won 2nd place for her yodeling. She was on that show a total of 4 times during the early fifties. She has also sung with Riders in The Sky, The Sunny-Dale Ramblers, Merl Becker & The Dream Valley Caravan and others. As a faithful and active one of Jehovah's Witnesses, she truly loved sharing the Bible's hope for a better future with her friends and neighbors. (Revelation 21:3-4) She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of almost 67 years Donald, along with her 4 children, and 3 grandchildren. Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2017, 1 PM at the Orange Tree Golf Resort, 10601 N 56th St, Scottsdale with reception to follow. Arrangements entrusted to Hansen Mortuary.
