Suzanne Acosta Suzanne "Sue" Zeringue Acosta, 74, was a native and resident of Thibodaux, La. She was born on Aug. 18, 1938 and passed away peacefully on Nov. 17, 2012. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Thibodaux Funeral Home Parlor and on Wednesday, from 8 a.m. until funeral time at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Co-Cathedral in Thibodaux, La. Burial will take place in St. Joseph Cemetery in Thibodaux, La. She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Homer Lawrence Acosta, Sr.; children, Kim Acosta Robichaux and husband Brad of Thibodaux, La., Homer Acosta Jr. and wife Lillie of Augusta, Ga., Craig Acosta and wife Joy of Thibodaux, La., Dr. Scott Acosta and wife Bonnie of New Orleans, La.; Brother, Harold Zeringue; Sister, LeeAnn Waguespack; Grandchildren, Michael Delaune Jr. and wife Marjorie, Moniqua Heyman and husband James, Jarett Acosta, Matthew Acosta, Timothy Acosta and wife Rachel, Katie Acosta, Colette Acosta and Ira Benjamin Acosta; Great-Grandchildren, Emma Delaune, Caroline Delaune, Henri Heyman, Evangeline Acosta, and 11 Step-Grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her Father, Horace Zeringue and Mother, Maggie Melancon Zeringue. Sue worked as a Certified Nurses Assistant at the Lafourche Home For The Aged for 33 years. She devoted her career to caring for the sick and elderly, always showing her compassion and concern for those in need. Her greatest pleasure was spending time with her family and caring for others. She truly loved her family and friends, and she will be deeply missed by many. The family would like to extend our thanks to Dr. James Ellis for his care of our Mother. We also want to thank Thibodaux Health Care Center for the wonderful care and support they provided for our Mother during the last months of her life. We are truly grateful.
