You befriended a young girl who went to college at night with Bob and became a lifelong friend who was always there when I needed you. You were my role model for raising my children and for helping me realize what was important in life and relationships.

My memories of Sue are lit up with her laughter and good energy. Singing together in the Overbrook Choir and our frequent chats about our children brought joy. Condolences to Bob and the family.

To Suzy-Q in heaven,
If I close my eyes and listen, I can still hear your laughter. We had over 50 years of friendship that began when we both sang in the choir at Overbrook Presbyterian Church. You and Bob always made me feel like family and that meant the world to me. Sue, you were very special that way. So many Saturday nights playing cards and laughing, crazy choir parties and just having fun. We shared Thanksgiving dinner every year, trips to the beach in the summer; travels to San Francisco and the Outer Banks. So many wonderful memories over the years. Your friendship has been a blessing and I will miss you very much.
Rest in peace, my friend. You made the world a better place.

Dear Sue,
So many wonderful childhood memories with you, my next door neighbor! My heart is full of images of our antics and celebrations on Merwood Lane, especially Halloweens and the walks you and I used to take all by ourselves on the trolley tracks all the way to Ardmore! As an adult, you and Bob were so supportive of me during my visits to Havertown to help Mother and Dad in their old age. I'll never forget your warm, laughing presence, generously giving me a home away from home with good food, laughter, wine, and enduring friendship. Rest in peace, my precious friend.

Dear Bob, Just to let you know that Jeremy and I are thinking of you and Sue, with love. We won't be able to make the service on the 21st due to a prior commitment, but our prayers are with you and your family. The rest of the choir is also aware, and I hope some will be able to come. I always remember working with Sue to get our trip to Italy arranged and planting bulbs in the church garden in the freezing cold one year. We will miss her, and you.
Love, Rachel Carnahan and Jeremy Blatchley

I simply cannot find the correct words to express all the memories I have of Sue. We became friends as soon as she and Bob and the children moved to Hathaway Lane.
Many a day we would stand outside supervising the children declaring the housework would wait! (And it did). We watched each other’s children and Sue drove me to the hospital the night my daughter was born. She and Bob gave me a “girl outfit” to bring Beth home in.
We laughed and complained together over the years.
I will always fondly remember her laugh.
My sincere condolences to Bob and her whole family.
Fondly
