Sylvia was born on July 13, 1933 in Woonsocket, RI to Wilfrid O. and Sylvia M. (Sullivan) Johnson. She was preceded in death by her parents. On April 15, 1993 in Las Vegas she married Billie Blalock who preceded her in death on April 4, 2016. Surviving are a daughter, Sarina Zimmerman of Mishawaka and a son Walt Zimmerman of Mishawaka; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Sylvia was a Nursing Assistant for area Nursing Homes. As per her request, there will be no visitation and no services. Cremation will take place. Hahn Funeral Home, Mishawaka has been entrusted with the final arrangements.
