Pharr - Sylvia F. Guerra, 74, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 26, 2017 at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg. Sylvia was born on February 26, 1942 in Mission, Texas to Luis and Teresa Flores from Linn. Sylvia was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and one of the kindest woman you would ever know. She was fun-loving with a great sense of humor and always ready to crack a joke. She especially looked forward to card nights at the ranch with family and friends. Sylvia was preceded in death by Luis Flores (father), Teresa Flores (mother), Jesus Jose Flores (brother), Jorge Carlos Flores (brother), Luis Flores Jr. (brother), Mari Carmen Ramirez (granddaughter). She is survived by her husband Jose Angel Guerra, Jr., Jose Angel Guerra, III (son), Maria Teresa (Michael) Ramirez daughter, Sylvia Iris (Mario Alberto) Ornelas daughter. Grandchildren-Samantha Guerra (Alberto) Rodriquez, Madeline and Miguel Ramirez, Mario Francisco, Jaqueline, Andrea, Sophia and Daniella Ornelas. Great Grandchildren-Natalia and Alberto Rodriguez, Jr. Melba Coody(sister), Vicky Flores(Luis Jr.+) Romeo J.(Tani) Flores, Raquel Flores(Jorge Carlos+), Jose Oscar(Bonnie) Flores. Sylvia Guerra graduated from Edinburg High School in 1960 and was a life-long resident of Pharr, Texas. She was employed for 25 years by Dr. Jorge Trevino and Rafael Garza in McAllen. Sylvia made numerous friends with her cheerful charisma, attitude, and always remained humble and kind. Pallbearers will be her nephews Luis Jr., Jaime, Romeo Jr., Jorge Carlos, Jesus Jose Jr, Flores and Louis Coody.Honorary Pallbearers will be her brothers Romeo and Jose Oscar Flores, Grandsons Mario Francisco Ornelas, Miguel Efren Ramirez.The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Dr. Prakash Palimar, Dr. Reuben Valentin and Dr. Melva Palacios for their dedication and commitment to providing quality care to our beloved Sylvia. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 29th from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., with a 7:00 p.m. rosary at Kreidler Funeral Home in McAllen. Funeral services will take place at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Mission at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, January 30th followed by 11:00 am burial at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery.
