Marcoux, SylviaSylvia Marcoux, age 91, of Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, passed away Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at Aspirus Riverview Hospital in Wisconsin Rapids.Funeral services for Sylvia will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church in Wisconsin Rapids. Father Valentine Joseph will officiate the service. The family will greet relatives and friends on Monday July 10, 2017 from 4:00 - 8:00 PM at Ritchay Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids and again on Tuesday morning at the church from 10:00 - 11:00 AM. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Wisconsin Rapids. Sylvia was born on October 3, 1925 in the Town of Carson, Portage County, to the late Cornelius and Marie (De Bruin) Kempen. She married Archie Marcoux on June 15, 1946 in Wisconsin Rapids. He preceded her in death on December 31, 2004.Sylvia enjoyed traveling with her husband and camping with her children and grandchildren. She liked to play sheepshead at the Senior Center in Wisconsin Rapids and also liked to sing, plant flower gardens- especially roses, and to spend the winter time with Archie in various places throughout the country. Sylvia is survived by her children; Robert (LaVerne) Marcoux of Royse City, Texas, Peter (Kathleen) Marcoux of Wisconsin Rapids, William (Katy) Marcoux of Merrill, David (Peggy) Marcoux of Wisconsin Rapids, Mark (Karen) Marcoux of Nekoosa, Nancy (Roland) Donath of Marshfield, Sally (Charles) Wipfli of Merrillan, WI. and Susan (Timothy) Krohn of Wisconsin Rapids; 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and one brother Leo Kempen. She is further survived by other nieces, nephews and family members. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Archie and siblings Vincent Kempen, Clifford Kempen, Tony Kempen, Melvin Kempen, Rachel Anderson, Juletta Darr and Florence Nash. In lieu of flowers, a memorial for Sylvia will be established at a later date.
