Tamara L. UlmerTamara (Tami) Louise Ulmer, 49, passed away March 21, 2014 after battling a rare type of breast cancer. She was born on May 4, 1964 to William and Barbara Buchholz in Ellensburg, Washington where she grew up and forever called home. She graduated from Ellensburg High School in 1982, a year after she met the love of her life, Jay Ulmer. They began their beautiful journey in life together and were joined by marriage in 1983. They filled their lives with love and hard work. Tami took great pride in the trucking company she and Jay built over the past 27 years. The couples most treasured hobbies and memories came from bowling and car racing where Tami was Jay's biggest fan. Tami's family was everything to her. She was an incredible wife, mother, mentor, and friend. Many admired Tami's determination and love for others. She was deeply involved in her children's sports, primarly basketball, traveling all over the country to support them in every step of their careers. It is no surprise to anyone who knew her that she spent the last several years being the best grandma a child could ever wish for. If her babies were happy, she was happy. She loved to be outdoors whether it be boating, camping, or planting flowers with her loved ones. She will forever be remembered for driving around in her mini cooper, with the top down and her sweet dog Pepper by her side. Tami was a friend to all who crossed her path. Her warm spirit and infectious smile changed many lives and helped build a strong circle of family and friends. Throughout her life she was brave, strong and courageous beyond imagination, and never let her battle against cancer defeat her. Tami is preceded in death by her mother Barbara Ann Buchholz and her mother-in-law Mary Louise Ulmer. She is survived by husband Jay Ulmer, children Stephanie Ulmer, Tiffanie Ulmer, JJ (Mercedes) Ulmer, and grandchildren Kyslee, Keynan and Oakley. Along with father William Buchholz, brothers Mike (Tina) Buchholz, Mitch (Pam) Buchholz, Curt Buchholz as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends. Please join us at her "Celebration of Life" on April 5, 2014 at 2pm in the Manastash building at the Kittitas County Fair Grounds.
