With profound sadness, we share the passing of Tanya Lee Tucker. Tanya fought a difficult and courageous battle with cancer for seven years and always believed she would gain her health back and overcome the battle. The way she died is just like the way she lived: she wrote her own rules, paved her own way. And if you said she couldn't do it, she would make sure to show you she could!
Tanya was born on May 14, 1975, in Corpus Christi, Texas. She lived for 44 years, 10 days short of the young age of 45.
Tanya is survived by her mother, Sharon Lee Smith of McKinney, Texas; her father, Johnny Thomas Tucker, Jr., and stepmother Tammy Tucker of Corpus Christi, Texas; her sister, Paulette Cawthon and brother-in-law Rick Cawthon of Rockwall, Texas; her sister, Courtney Tucker of California; her brother, Justin Tucker and sister-in-law Courtney of Hawaii; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins, as well as her beloved dog, Chloe.
She was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Helen Warren Poole and Robert Webster Smith; and her paternal grandparents, Johnny Thomas Tucker, Sr. and Vella Mae (Kay) Tucker.
The family would like to send a special thank you to all the amazing nursing staff at T. Boone Pickens Hospice Center in Dallas, Texas. The compassion you gave to Tanya will never be forgotten.
