Taressa Sowel passed away on June 20, 2024, in Monroe, Louisiana, United States. She was born on April 10, 1921, to Cornelius Sr and Helen.

Taressa was married to Johnny Morehead in 1939 and together they had 10 children: Johnny Morehead, Alice Morehead, Mary Beth Morehead, Gladys Morehead, June Morehead, Rose Morehead, Jeff Morehead, Ronald Morehead, Phillip Morehead, and Paul Morehead.

Taressa was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
