Ted AucremanLANCASTER: Ted L. Aucreman, 79, passed away Saturday, December 31,2016 at Homestead Center. Ted was born on June 6, 1937 in Lancaster, Ohio. He graduated from Lancaster High School and attended Indiana University where he was an outstanding football player for the Hoosiers. He won numerous athletic awards, including 2nd Team All American. He also played pro football for the Detroit Lions. Ted served in the Army Reserves and retired from Anchor Hocking as a Furnace Room Supervisor. His hobbies included fishing and hunting. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sylvia Jane; son Ted Jr. (Holly); brother, Tom "Butch" (Carolyn); grandchildren, Corey, Danielle, Kayla, Abby, Sydney and Tyler; many nieces and nephews. Ted was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Emma; daughter Debbie Blake; and brothers, Jim and Joe. Visitation is 2-4 and 6-8 Wednesday, January 4th at Halteman-Fett & Dyer Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Thursday at 1 :00 p.m. with Pastor Tim Poling officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Rose Cemetery.
