Ted L. Romero, 65, a longtime resident of Las Vegas, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 3 2013 at Christus St. Vincent Hospital in Santa Fe.He was born on Aug. 10, 1948 in Rocky Ford, Colo. to the late Mariano Romero and Lucinda Padilla.He retired in 2000 from Las Vegas Medical Center where he worked as a Psych Tech. His hobbies included working and collecting classic automobiles. He raised cattle, sheep and rabbits. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and family.He is preceded in death by his parents, Mariano and Lucinda Romero; sisters, Lucille Romero and Josie Mares; and brothers, Leroy Romero and Gilbert Romero.He is survived by his wife, Mary Helen Romero of the family home; son and daughters, Edward Quintana and wife, Kim of Rio Rancho, Clarice Bonney and husband, James, Clarissa Vega and husband, Albert, all of Las Vegas, Laura Romero and significant other, Alex Malashev of Rio Rancho; grandchildren, Andriana Isengard and husband, Billy, Edward Jacob Quintana, Whitney Quintana, Ryan Quintana, Brandon Quintana, and their mother Christine Quintana, Brittany Pomales and husband, Javier, Raymond Valerio, Teryann Valerio, James Bonney, Connor Bonney, Paige Bonney, Reyes Vega, Kayla Vega, and Noah Vega; great-grandson, Xavier Pomales; sisters and brothers, Diane Chavez and husband, Julian, Steve Romero and friend, Mary Gygox, Julia Gallegos and husband Gene, Paul Romero and wife, Dolores, all of Las Vegas, Rosie Rivera and husband, Art of Ribera, Rick Romero and wife, Rose Lee, Betty Romero and husband, Hermando Encinias, Chris Romero and wife, Patsy, Mary Grace Saiz and husband, Steven; mother-in-law, Magdalena Quintana, all of Las Vegas; brothers-in-law, Joe Mares, Gilbert Quintana and wife, Angie; sisters-in-law, Velma Gallegos, all of Albuquerque, Lourdes Dominquez and husband, Johnny Pino of Las Vegas; aunt, Aurora Trujillo and husband, Pete of Brighton, Colo.; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.Rosary services will be held at 7 p.m. today (Friday). Funeral services will be conducted at 9 a.m. Saturday with Father George V. Salazar as celebrant with both services to be held at Immaculate Conception Church in Las Vegas. Interment will follow at St. Anthony's Cemetery in Las Vegas with the following serving as casket bearers: Edward Quintana, James Bonney, Albert Vega, Alex Malashev, Reyes Vega, James Mitchell Bonney, Edward Jacob Quintana and Raymond Valerio.
