Ted W. LewisMarch 29, 1923 - October 15, 2014Ted W. Lewis, 91, of Nampa, passed away on Oct. 15, 2014 after an extended illness. He was born on March 29, 1923 on the family farm in Nampa, Idaho to W.B. and Minnie (Sundermaier) Lewis, joining his older brother Bill. He attended school at Southside Blvd and graduated from Nampa High School in 1941. He and Marjorie Rudolph were married on April 4, 1948 at Zion Lutheran Church and were married for 66 Years. They were blessed with 3 sons, Jim, Jack and Sam. They went everywhere with their Dad.Ted was a dairyman/farmer and when the family had a little spare time they headed for Owyhee County, fishing, hunting, exploring old mining and cattle roads and enjoyed their old house in Silver City.He surrendered his life to God at age 28 and served his church as elder, Sunday school teacher and was in church every Sunday. He served his community also, serving many years on the Soil Conservation Board, also on the Nampa Rural Fire District and was a volunteer fireman as well. He was a member of the old Countrymen's Club and a member for years of Canyon Camp of Gideons.He was such a kind and good husband and daddy, infinitely patient and soft spoken.He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Bill (and Anna) Lewis and a granddaughter, Naomi Jo Lewis.Survivors include his wife, Marj; sons, Jim and Donna, Jack and Kara and Sam and Linda all of Nampa; Grandsons, Josh and Sara of Meridian, Andrew of Albequerque, NM, Steven of Boise, Jason of Nampa, Jake of Nampa; Granddaughters, Angela and Andrew Jurado of Nampa, Tara and Joe Jackson of Nampa, Holly of Nampa and Hannah of San Antonio, TX; and nieces, nephews and cousins who were dear to him.A viewing will be held on Monday, Oct. 20, 2014 at the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel from 10:00 to 10:30 AM followed by a graveside service at 11:00 A.M. at the Kohlerlawn Cemetery, Nampa.
