CARLISLE - Teddy Morgan Dotson, 68, husband of Carolyn Trapp Dotson, passed away on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at St. Joseph Hospital with a short illness. Teddy was born on October 17,1947 and has lived in Carlisle, Nicholas Co. Kentucky most of his life. Besides his wife of 46 years, he is survived by his only child, Mary Susan (Doug) McCord and 2 granddaughters, Mary Elizabeth (Beth) McCord and Laura Ann McCord all of Carlisle. Also 2 sisters, Maxene (Kelly) Kinnett, Stowe, Ohio and Lisa (Charlie) Bussell, Carlisle and nieces and nephews and a very special caregiver Nevada McGlothin. Teddy was the son of the late Frances Deatley Dotson Hall and Teddy Maxwell Dotson. Teddy was a past member of the Kentucky National Guard, Carlisle Unit. He also retired from Jockey International in 1999. He and Carolyn jointly with daughter and son-in-law, Mary Susan and Doug opened Carlisle Gifts and Collectibles in October 1999. On December 3, 2011, Teddy suffered an AVM brain injury and was recovering. During these past nearly 5 years he has been able enjoy family gatherings, school events for the granddaughters, zs" Anniversary celebration for Mary Susan and Doug and in August 2016, Teddy was able to attend his so" Class of 1966 Reunion. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 11, 2016 from 5-8pm at Clark-Carlisle Funeral Home, Carlisle, KY. The funeral services will be conducted by Bro. Jimmy Caswell and will be on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at 2pm at the funeral home followed by the burial in the Carlisle Cemetery at his graveside. Casket bearers will be B. J. Williams, Allen DeAtley; Doug McCord, Stanley Caswell, Terry Carmack, and Ralph McGlothin. Honorary Casket bearers are UK Neurological Dept., Cardinal Hill, Harrison Memorial Hospital and Rehab, WEDCO, Nicholas and Harrison Co. Ambulance Services, St. Joseph Hospital, Johnson Mathers Health Care, Kentucky State Highway Dept. Carlisle Employees, Bobby Dryden, Dr. Adnan, Licking Valley Doctors and Staff, Carlisle Rotarians, and Nevada McGlothin, his caregiver for helping to give us nearly 5 more years of love for wife, daughter and son-in-law, granddaughters and family.
