Terrance Leon Sutton Obituary

Oct 09, 1969 - Jan 21, 2018

This obituary is administered by:

Mr.Terrance Leon Sutton was born in Wallace, Rose Hill to the late Juanita Washington & Harry Devaughn Sutton. He was the youngest of 3, a very dedicated, loving, respectful, strong-willed & determined father, uncle, grandfather, husband, & brother. He worked for Caterpillar for 6 years. He helped many young men accomplish things he wasn’t able to. For that, he was well respected.

Terrance leaves behind 3 children, 5 grandchildren, & 2 older brothers. Shawn, 35, of Henderson NC(his son Aj,10) Christian, 31, of Raleigh NC(his son Caleb, 9.Noah 6.) Tempestt, 28, Clayton NC(her son, Aiden,6.Daughter Kaelyn, 4)Wendell Sutton(Winston Salem) Danny Sutton(Rose Hill NC).

He took pride in his yard work. He was in that yard three days a week, sometimes four. He enjoyed being outdoors. He played with his grandchildren every chance he got. Their smiles & energy lifted up his spirits! If you knew “pops” you knew he enjoyed positive vibes. No negativity. He had one rule. He often told his children to “smile. There is a god” His oldest son Shawn would respond “Pops that’s your answer to everything” His younger son Christian would just ignore him. But his baby girl, Tempestt Alexandria Sutton whom he’d had the honor of naming(he bragged about her name so much) She’d smile & say “Pop you’re right! I know a man named Jesus” As his days passed, he got tired. Terrance suffered but he wouldn’t complain. He’d tell the family “I’m ok. I’m a SUTTON” Terrance was known for his positivity, his bright smile, & generous ways. On January 20th,2018 at 6 pm, he placed a call to his oldest. That phone call was bittersweet. He told his boy to get his siblings together, stay close, & promise him to be great! The Lord called him home January 21st at 11:30 pm. He held the doctor's hand & said “The Lord has called” He was tired, he fought a great fight. The victory was his. He has gained his wings.
