Terry Lee LaForge, age 69, of Ovid passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2011 at his home.Terry was born on Sept. 9, 1942 in AuSable, the son of Courtney Grant and Erma Fern (Colbath) LaForge. He graduated from Owosso High School and attended Calvary Baptist Church. Terry enjoyed woodworking and fishing. He spent many years helping with the local Boy Scouts organizations.Terry married Marilyn Loraine Engle at the Assembly of God Church in East Tawas on July 6, 1963. He was employed by General Motors as a machine repairman.Terry is survived by his wife, Marilyn; son, Terry LaForge Jr.; daughter, Christina (Scott) Placeway; grandchildren, Terry LaForge III, Jeffrey Placeway, Kaitlyn Placeway and Melody Placeway; brothers, James, Jerry and Dennis LaForge; many brothers and sister-in-laws; and other loving family and friends. He is predeceased by his parents.Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 21 at Nelson-House Funeral Home with Rev. Don Fields officiating and burial to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Tawas City.
