Mr. Terry Freeman Simmons of Thomasville died Sunday, Aug. 11, 2013, at the Hinkle Hospice House after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 50.
He was born on Nov. 24, 1962, in West Jefferson to Carl Franklin Simmons and Mary Anderson Simmons.
Terry is survived by his parents and his wife, Tammy Hunt Simmons; his children, Terry Brandon Simmons (Lea Brousseau) and Courtney Elizabeth Simmons (Erin Johnson); three grandchildren, Kara Mae and Kylee Simmons and Aaron Dalton Johnson; one brother, Thomas Franklin Simmons (Cathy) of Lewisville; one sister, Teresa Faye Smith (Scott) of Shelby; and several nieces and nephews.
He was employed at Toys "R" Us of Winston-Salem. Terry enjoyed mostly spending time with his family and golfing with his long-time friend, Craig "Keg" Ferguson of West Jefferson.
The family will greet friends from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2013, at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, 2013, at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Thomasville with Rev. Ken Morris officiating. The interment will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery.
