Thelma Lois StapletonEnglewood, FLThelma Lois Williams Stapleton passed away peacefully at her residence on August 29, 2017 in Englewood, Florida at the age of 88. She was born on September 3, 1928 in Rutherford County, Tennessee and attended Halls Hill School and graduated from Kittrell High School. She was also a graduate from Knox Business College in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. On July 2,1954 she married Art Stapleton of Glamorgan, Virginia. After their marriage, they lived in Michigan and in Florida. She was a Christian and member of the East Englewood Church of Christ in Englewood, Florida. She enjoyed teaching Sunday school, assisting with Sunday dinners and working in the church food pantry.She was preceded in death by her parents: Lorenzo Dal and Bernice (McBroom) Williams, husband, and siblings; Era Bowling, Ethel Carter, Maurice Williams, Johnny Williams, Clara Bond, Gladys Uselton, James C. Williams, and Jean Declue. She is survived by her daughter: Phyllis (Mark) Rhoads; granddaughters: Allison and Erin Rhoads all of Wesley Chapel, Florida and a sister: Rachel Arnette of Murfreesboro, Tennessee.Visitation with the family will be on Friday, September 1, 2017 from 10 Am until service time at 11 Am at the East Englewood Church of Christ, 9600 Gulfstream Blvd., Englewood, FL 34224 with Jim Chandler officiating.Burial will be on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at 1:30 Pm at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Tidewell Hospice at 5955 Rand Blvd, Sarasota, FL 33938. Englewood Community Funeral Home has been selected to handle arrangements.
