Thelma Johnson, beloved mother and grandmother passed away on July 18, 2023, in Dothan, Alabama. She was born on November 1, 1949, to George (Guss) Parnell and Alice Fay Clifton in Memphis, TN.She attended school, where she displayed a keen interest in hairstyling and beauty. Thelma's passion for the industry led her to pursue a career as a beautician.During her journey through life, Thelma met the love of her life, James (Jim) Henry Johnson. They were united in marriage on August 26, 1994 and their love blossomed for 28 years. Together, they built a beautiful family and shared a home filled with love, laughter, and a deep sense of companionship.Thelma's three children, Kimberly Ostander, Jill Newman, and Allison Roberson, were her greatest source of pride and joy. She treasured every moment spent with them and dedicated her life to nurturing and raising them to be kind, compassionate, and successful individuals. Thelma led by example, teaching her children the importance of hard work, perseverance, and the value of family bonds.Thelma's role as a grandmother brought her immense joy. Mekayla Peterson held a special place in her heart. She adored her wholeheartedly, showering her with unconditional love and teaching her valuable life lessons whenever they spent time together.Beyond her loving family, Thelma was known for her love for God. She studied hard and earned her theology degree from Cornerstone Bible College. Thelma along with her loving and devoted husband Jim made sure they took the time to pray daily for those they held dear.Thelma will forever be remembered for her joyful spirit, infectious laughter, and unwavering love and devotion to her family. Her kindness and generosity were boundless, and she left an indelible mark on the lives of all who had the pleasure of knowing her.In honor of Thelma Johnson's memory, her family and loved ones have gathered today to celebrate her life and the blessings she brought into the world.
